I wish my husband would wear his aids at home. He seems to think he doesn’t need them at home but I have to repeat 3 and 4 times getting louder every repeat. It gets old. Also when I ask him something or tell him something he never responds so I have to ask him if he hears me.

I went to a TruHearing provider to assist my husband since I already had hearing aids. During the visit with the provider, he pushed us to purchase the most expensive level of technology for the hearing aids he recommended. When I asked the provider for written material explaining the difference between the various levels of technology so we could review it at home, he said he didn’t have any. That is a big red flag when considering any purchase.

I m getting a HA in the next week or two and was figuring on the Phonak L90 with a BiCros setup as my one ear has no audio nerve at all. would you say the Oticon Intent 4D would work better or the Phonak L 90? I am going to a best practices audiologist so hopefully she is in tune with both. Also I am a android user that likes technology

The regular ones worked for me once. Now both the regular and v2 just fall out of my ears. I have pain throughout entire flights.

I heard some doctors programming them first just for sound therapy via special protocol before they using them for tinnitus and hearing loss. ? Is it true?

I spent a year in absolute agony, to have ENT specialists left right and centre tell me I had a perfectly healthy ear. I went to a private clinic, and they told me I had impacted earwax and that it needed to be removed. They attempted it, but the pain was too great so they ceased. They refused to try anymore. They referred me to a specialist clinic and when I called it was five times the previous clinic's rate, just for a consultation. I couldn't afford it. Enter the (not naming the otoscope's name for fear of being deleted -I swear I was just deleted for being mistaken for some kind of bot advert). I decided to buy one of these instead, and give it a shot myself. I did it in small bouts, and over the course of four days I managed to completely clear my ear out. There must have been at least two centimetres of buildup and some of it was like a rock. Unfortunately that's not the end. I had spotted a white mass at the back of my outer canal just above my ear drum. I had a cholesteatoma as a teenager, and was afraid this had recurred. So I went to my hospital, and sure enough, I got the confirmation. They told me that I shouldn't have used the otoscope, but I did a good job and the doc said if he were me he would have done the same. It took a year before I had surgery, and it has affected me dramatically, but if it weren't for that otoscope, the tumour would have reached my brain before they found it.

Check, Check, Check, check and Check... I did see a audiologist and was sold a $4,000 out of pocket pair of Widex devices, 7 years later, same tinnitus. Never did they suggest things I was doing that aided to the freight train in the ears. I'll work on some of those habits, thanks.

I have had more negative experiences than positive, buying hearing aids. First reality the person selling will sell you something period. Commissions are their paycheck. Half the people out there don't understand the programming process. Especially older people. I went through 4 sets of aids before I found a good aid, properly programmed.

Please include low gain hearing aids.

Phillips hearing aids tend to stop working on one side a lot. Taking off and putting back on the plastic in ear dome often fixes the problem. Sometimes I have to replace the wax filter. They do seem to connect to the phone app even when not working. I think I either have a short in the receiver wire or my ear wax problem is bad.

I have Meniere's Disease which is in remission for now but salt & caffeine will activate my symptoms of dizziness. Management is the key to avoid triggering symptoms.
